OUR HISTORY
Ashton in Action was founded by community members as an upliftment initiative in the community of Ashton in the Western Cape. Initially Ashton in Action embarked on small ‘clean-up’ and environmental projects inspiring community members to come together to restore pride in the main road of Ashton and to ‘clean up’ in their neighborhoods.
It was recognised that to maintain a healthy outer appearance of a community you need to address the inner health too. The need for a School of Skills in Ashton was raised as a priority and we have now dedicated our NPO to raise funds to enable the Ashton Vocational Academy to be built.
OUR VISION
Respecting diversity goes beyond mere acknowledgment; it’s rooted in the belief that every learner, regardless of their background or challenges, possesses the potential to learn and grow. At Ashton in Action, our vision is not just about imparting knowledge but about transforming lives. We aim to bridge the gap for learners who face barriers to traditional learning, equipping them with the vital skills they need to seamlessly integrate into the world of work and thrive in their chosen professions.
ASHTON VOCATIONAL ACADEMY
The Ashton Vocational Academy is dedicated to imparting both concepts and practical skills, ensuring that secondary school learners are equipped with a toolkit for lifelong work and responsible citizenship. Beyond providing educational opportunities, this institution takes a broader view of education, placing a strong emphasis on the holistic development of each learner, ensuring they are well-rounded and ready for the challenges of the future.
